Meet the Mindstreamer – Rachel Rehonic
Our first employee spotlight features Rachel Rehonic who works out of our Dallas headquarters. As a Digital Account Manager, Rachel analyzes and manages paid search advertising tactics for multiple agency accounts. This includes giving insights to senior account managers and assisting them with campaign optimizations on larger accounts, while also executing new launches and maintaining oversight on the day-to-day tasks for smaller accounts.
Rachel’s favorite part of the fast-paced agency environment is learning something new every day. The issue of privacy has certainly been a hot topic in the industry lately, with discussions around the way personal data gets collected online, and this directly impacts advertising capability and strategy. Staying informed on the latest updates related to this topic, as well as many others, are part of what keeps Rachel motivated and excited to work in the media industry.
Keeping up-to-date on media news is not the only aspect of the job that Rachel enjoys. She is excited most about her team and coworkers, and says that the fun agency environment is what makes work enjoyable every single day.
In college, Rachel majored in communication and always knew she wanted to go into marketing. She was intrigued by agency life, as well as working with a variety of companies as clients, so after connecting with Mindstream Media Group (formerly Southwest Media Group), the rest was history. Rachel joined the team just over a year ago and shares now, “I am excited for what the future holds for both my career and the company.”
When asked what advice she would give to someone wanting to pursue a career in this industry, Rachel replied, “To do as much research about the industry as they can. There is a lot to learn, and figuring out how things work ahead of time will be beneficial for a future career in media. I would also say to find opportunities to get experience working with media whenever possible.” We wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. Research internships, devote some time to industry research, make connections in your area of interest and learn as much as you can about different roles to help prioritize your interest and ability.
Rachel credits her work ethic to her biggest role models, her parents. Stating that they are the two hardest-working people she knows, she aspires to be like them in every aspect of life.
Rachel’s hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, shopping, watching hockey and traveling.
One last thing, a little known / interesting fact about Rachel: She received a mediation certification in the state of Texas.
